Federico Secondo Bed and Breakfast

We stayed in this B&B for a whole week and were very happy with our choice. The location is perfect, just in between all places worth visiting. The train and ferry stations are also within easy walking distance. The rooms can get a bit noisy in the mornings but everything else is just perfect. The staff are very helpful and they also make delicios breakfasts - so you can start every day with a huge piece of an Italian cake.

A great Bed & Breakfast in the heart of Naples. The location is great, with only a short walk to the train station and not far from the ocean or the old part of the city. Rosanna the owner is very sweet and helpful, and the staff is equally sweet. The rooms are great (and clean!) and have a little balcony. The breakfast is also great and can be enjoyed on the balcony or inside.

excellent-- Very clean, bright modern freshly renovated rooms. Very reasonable price. Excellent personable friendly service. Balcony for breakfast is a nice setting. Mini split air conditioning kept up and did a good job. Bed was comfortable with good layout of electric plugs (many fancy old hotels have terrible access to plug in a phone overnight) Acceptable-- room and bathroom a little small, but adequate. Breakfast is not a big hotel buffet. It is modest but good. Plenty of good coffee (espresso, cappuccino, americano). Walls are thin, we could hear people next door, but no big deal. Our TV set didn't work, but again no big deal. We didn't come to Italy to watch TV. Location is at Federico 2 University, so if you're visit is related to the school the location is excellent. However, my visit was as a tourist, and for such the location is ok. Its 10-15 minute walk to the port for ferries to islands and its 10-15 minute walk to historic old town for cathedral, Carravaggio, subterranean tour and such. Its a 5min walk to metro Station for trains to major sites ( Pompeii, Herculeum, archeological museum, etc). This is a guest house, not a hotel. Don't expect a 24hr lobby, or bellhops. When you first arrive, you see a locked green steel door with a buzzer. After you get inside, they give you keys to the street door, the elevator, and your room. Poor-- the only thing I didn't like was the lack of an in-room safe. Your option is to carry your cash or hide it in the room. In the big picture this is a minor fault. Nothing else was poor. The Federico II is a good guest house option when in Naples.
